EDIT: was "Egg for ID" Anterior end of an egg, with larva inside, that was in my banana-bait trap. There were Muscid and Calliphorid adults in the trap. Is it possible to determine family? Yes, there were fruit flies in the cage as well as the others. But the egg is 3.5 mm long; too big for Drosophila? |

Wow, did I ever get that wrong. I saw maggots and assumed they were 1st instar blow flies; these I thought were eggs. Thanks Paul for a correct ID.  |
