Is Nemorilla floralis correct or are the pictures not good enough?

Thanks in advance

I don't see enough - we need to see the bristles on the humeral callus and a dorsal view of the whole fly would be useful.

It's tricky, but it looks fairly good - does it key easily?

It keys suprisingly easily. Just the last couplet, with the bent hairs for the males looks a bit tricky since i don't thick they look "hook-like".

OK, well they look bent forward enough to me. I haven't seen many N.maculosa but I have examined what material I have here and indeed the phrase 'hook-like' might be a little misleading. Mine all have the tips bent forward at about 90-degrees (like in fig.5 of the key) but the bend need not be sharply angled. While maculosa males have smoothly curved post-ocellars where the tip is not markedly bent. I am pretty sure that yours is N.floralis Smile
