Found Stomorhina lunata (Calliphoridae) in my garden (Buckinghamshire, England) yesterday (and thanks to Jorge for the picture in the gallery, which helped me narrow down the identity very quickly  , see:http://www.dipter...oto_id=381) Rognes' 1991 Fauna Ent Scand volume says "occasionally [found in] Great Britain but not breeding there", is that still true or is there any evidence of spreading north in Europe? Great record Martin. We had one in Norfolk earlier this year, but I don't think it can be described as widespread in Britain yet. By all accounts it is much more abundant than it used to be in countries like The Netherlands, so it must be using an alternative host, though I have not heard what that might be.
