This Asilidae fly, about 10-15 mm lenght, looked similar to some Neoitamus I have seen in the gallery. Found on the ground, 15-07-2011, at Can Grau, Beuda, Girona, NE Iberian peninsula, UTM 31T DG7477, 395 m.

Hello, I've checked at Fauna Europaea that in Spain there's only one species, Cerdistus blascozumetai, but in the Carles-Tolrà catalogue there are other four species in Spain. Also have read from you "In former times this was a female of the genus Cerdistus, now it's impossible to identify the genus without checking the internal structure of the male genitalia." So, my question is: with which other "new" genera could be confused with "Cerdistus sensu lato" Thanks in advance, Rafael Edited by rafael_carbonell on 11-06-2012 19:22 |
