Hello,

I collected the two leaves attached together by a spider web because of the odd white thing I'd never seen.
An imago emerged 8 days later.
Could it be an Ogcodes species?

from what I see the spider could be a Gnaphosidae... always kept the spider rests as they are useful information. Thanks for sharing us this acrocerid.

Christian Kehlmaier said:
The acrocerid should be Ogcodes reginae based on morphology alone as no reference barcodes are available yet. The spider host (subadult female and hence impossible to ID from morphology alone) is closest to Clubiona leucaspis. In France there are 31 Clubiona species (Fauna Europaea) but only for 6 of them a barcode exists. Nevertheless, our host spider has a genetic distance from C. leucaspis of only 1.1%.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
