Hi, I have plenty of pictures of this one, I met at night, attracted by the light on the terrace of the small house I spend most of my time while being in Brazil..rainforest Paraty-Brazil. 19-20th February 2010 It is the same fly, it just wouldn't stay in one place.. I guess it's one of these flies with countless look-a-likes but maybe a Genus name is possible? The genus is easy - Belvosia (Goniini) - but the species is nearly impossible - even with a specimen ... a very confused genus made even more confusing after DNA work too, I hear Still, they are lovely flies and one of my favourites Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London. |

Would be nice to have it in the gallery, I think - also remember to change your titles if something is identified, so that we can find the thread in the future
