Hi,

Two shots only of this, it scuttled under the leaf and disappeared.

8th September, my garden near Lincoln UK. Approx. 5mm.

I can crop any parts closer if required, but I know these are not the easiest to ID. A genus would be nice.

Genus Peromitra (Phoridae), which was formerly part of Borophaga.

Thank you very much Brian!

We only have a few species here, is there a possibility of a possible species?

There's six species still listed under Borophaga.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
