Hello,

this Conipid is from beginning of july from a garden near Neuss (germany). Length was about 1cm. Can the genus or the species be identified?

Thanks,
Michael

Noone?

Here is another picture. In the gallery for me the photos of the genus Physocephala look most similar. Does someone know, whether this is correct?

Thanks,
Michael

Hello,
I think this is the same species than my capture # 4782 (see my Thread “Physocephala sp.” on 25-10-2010 13:14).

Thanks

I do not find it easy to determine a Physocephala from a photo. D & JP, you collected a specimen, didn't you. Please, send a lateral photo of the animal.

look at: http://home.hccnet.nl/mp.van.veen/conopidae/physocephala.html

It is Physocephala rufipes, the only species of the rufipes group occuring in Neuss.

Hello Jens-Hermann,

many thanks for your answer. Very fine to get an identification after such a long time.

Viele Grüße,
Michael
