Hi Andre

You have the funny habit of using quite old names, not to say antique. The genus is called Tachina, these days.
What's in a name ?

I'm not sure about this one, it is a female and most likely magnicornis

Thank you, Theo. I think, you are right in both termes, with T. magnicornis and my antique names (they are used in the literature I have, sorry).

Well andre, you can always check names on www.faunaeur.org or www.diptera.org.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
