This fly was spotted in May 2009 , Serra da Estrela. 1500 m altitude.

Yes, this is Chaetogena.


IS the topcell closed ?
Did you collect it ?

We suspect there is a new species of Chaetogena out there in Portugal, but we didn't get the male.
This might be it .

I have collected 3 specimens... I was seeking for Baumhaeuria but it didn't appear.

In 2010 there were no Chetogena found in Nave de Santo António. I found them again this year and sent to Theo just to confirm the species and cf. with other specimen collected in 2009. Now I got the confirmation from Theo and Joachim Zigler... and it is really a Chetogena tschorsnigi.
