Hi I'm puzzled with this one! It was caught in last week by sweeping net - in Póvoa Dão - Silgueiros - Viseu. And has about 6 mm or so... it has a profile head like a muscid, antennae resembling a normal muscid... but then chaetotaxy and specially the very strong bent in M-.vein... add a mystery to this fly! what do you think about this one? jorgemotalmeida attached the following image: ![]() [187.51Kb] Edited by jorgemotalmeida on 07-04-2009 18:06  |

aha. that explains many things on this fly!  But even so... I keep remain the same.. knowing the genus for this one would be great. Perhaps Liekele can help on this one.  |

According to the Thomas Pape this is a Sarcophila cf. meridionalis . Very strng to be really a S. meridionalis |
