dear friends

* locality - Plan (Pirineos) - Huesca - SPAIN
* date - 2008.08.27
* size - about 5 mm (small fly)
* habitat - near a river
* substrate - Daucus carota flower

this is a fantastic Cistogaster. Maybe Theo or Chris or Jaakko can add a species level for this one. Smile

Theo, you are telling that Gymnosoma is now a synonym?

Is this common fly?

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol
