Hello,

I photographed this fly in the Piana di Cascina (AQ), Italy, 1050m a.s.l. on April 25th 2021. I think it is a Chironomidae, but is it possible to identify its genus or species from these photos? Unfortunately it was in a quite inaccessible spot, so I wasn't able to take better photos.

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
