Hello, I've had a hard time finding a fitting family for this little one, eventually I came to the possibility of a Sycorax as the habitus and wing venation seem to match... what do you think of that ? Thanks very much. May 14th, 2015, Vevey, Switzerland, in an underpass near a small wood. Sycorax is correct. This even appears to be a different one from the most common European species (S. silacea) - do you think you could get me some specimens? |

Thanks a lot for the genus confirmation ! I really can't promise you anything about specimens: I normally don't collect, just taking photos, and despite frequent inspections of this observation site this is the only one I ever saw (or noticed...). And I wouldn't even know how to capture such a small and delicate critter without crushing it to bits (if you could point me to some reference explaining how to proceed ?). Nonetheless if I ever happen to catch any it will be for you. Thank you once again! Pierre Bornand |

Once frozen a fly can be placed into alcohol or a small container with tissue paper to for mailing. American supermarkets often sell food in plastic containers that can be recycled for insect capturing. |
