I was also thinking Microtendipes. A closer look at the fore femur might reveal some out of place hairs, diagnostic for males of the genus. |

Could be Microtendipes pedellus. There are some species I don't know the color patterns of, and genital features are not visible from this angle. |

M. pedellus is exactly this colour, so that would be my guess, but it would be nice to have a colour photographic guide to adult chironomids. Any offers?
