bubbling above antenae ?

This is right out of cocoon and is to become (in an hour or so)green metalic fly, something like muscini or lucilia, have to cool it down to get a shoot. The buble is definitely from above antenae I seen it coming out. That nearly vertical row of bristles above and in front of the hind leg should put it in superfamily Oestroidea. |

The "bubble" is an organ called the ptilinium, which is used to crack open the pupal skin in the Cyclorrapha. It is only visible in newly hatched specimens; although traces of it remain evident as a horse-shoe-shaped scar above the antennae. |
