I have just taken this fly from woodland edge in N Scotland. The whole fly is attached here. two posts with details of wing and antenna will follow. The antenna is odd - the third segment is very short, notched, and surrounded by the cup-like segment 2. A family name would be welcome. Heleomyzidae. The third antennal segment is missing. Should be big and round. Probably Heleomyza sp. Andrzej
