The first pair of legs is completely black. The rest have a few small reddish zones.

Strange animal. It is clear in the key on European Chrysops, which starts: (1) Legs including tibiaea completely black. (1' Tibiae brown. Remind this topic any evening about 21.00, I stry to look again with the key and collection.Libor |

I would say that it is a dark C. relictus |

Chrysops caecutiens, that's for sure. According to some keys (e. g. Olsufjev,1977) caecutiens may have some brown coloration at the base of mid tibia and hind tarsi. |

Luis, if you have absolute certainity, send me the specimen. But I am almost sure your ID and my tentative revision are correst. So I agree with Sergiy = Ch. caecutiens. But not for 100% Libor |
