Meromyza eduardi Hubicka, 1967 female (Chloropidae) . The species is cited with the year 1966, but Hubicka’s article was issued only in 1967. Meromyza spp. normally can only be identified after the male (and partly also female) genitalia. But this image shows peculiar black 4th and 5th tarsal segment in combination with other characters, see below. After the most recent key for 72 Palaearctic and Oriental Meromyza spp. (Nartshuk & Fedoseeva 2011, Ent. Rev. 91: 103-120) it runs easily to eduardi. Hubicka in her key (1970, habilitation on Meromyza) mentioned a frons protruding over the eye, gena wider than the depth of the 3rd antennal segment, light peristomal setae, light brownish stripes on the scutum, and abdomen with light brownish marks in longitudinal rows, female cerci cylindrical, 4 times longer than wide. All these features are identical with the photo. The host grass is not yet known.
