May 27, 2006. Hiding from the rain on the trunk of Picea. Size rather small, wing length less than 10mm I believe.

the 16 segment antennae makes it a Limoniidae; and 3 branches of r reach wing margin makes it a Hexatomiinae. |

This is a limoniid but should be 4-8 flagellum in H. (Eriocera) |

Of 3 yellow spp., aperta has cell D open, which is not the case, dispar has dark-brown femora with yellow bases and wings less yellowish.

how do you rule out ferruginea? dispar and lineola have a median black stripe on top of thorax. Personally, i'd go on P ferruginea for this one, except if there is other similar specie in your area (i didn't check) |

Yea I think ferruginea (Phylidorea s.str. with short Rs) is also possible. |
