Either Chlorops sp or Thaumatomyia sp (Chloropidae).

Thaumatomyia notata (Meigen, 1830), Chloropidae. The approximated dark apical scutellar bristles exclude the genus Chlorops. Compare the commments on many other images of this abundant species. The colour of this species is very variable.

I thought it was my rubbish eyesight, as I could not make out any bristles either
