Bibio anglicus or B. hortulanus ? (female)

Found this one in my garden, yesterday. I think it's either Bibio hortulanus or B. anglicus, but I would like confirmation, if possible. Thanks all! Gert ![]() ![]() |

Bibio hortulanus to me Venation fits hortulanus, not anglicus. I don't know if this is true, but I think that those white hairs on the lateral of the thorax are present in hortulanus and not in anglicus.Wait for Theo's opinion. He will tell you for sure ![]() |

I would tend to agree - anglicus is a small species too (like johannis), while hortulanus is larger ![]() PS: Welcome to the forum Gert - pleased to have you abroad
