Sorry, the insect on the photo is a female. Perhaps it is B. marci, but, since I am not really paying a lot of attention to this family, I am not 100% sure. Looking at the blackish colour, including wing it is black enough. But what about the size of the animal?

Thanks a lot to both of you !! ![]() I can't remember very well but it's bigger than this male sp ... I would say 12 mm long for the female and half size for the male ? Both of those flies were shot at the same place and at the same time ... could they be the same species ? Or several species of Bibio can occure at the same time ? |
