Lauxaniidae - Minettia cf. longiseta?

This specimen does not seem to have a Presutural dorsocentral bristle so Minettia longiseta would be a better bet Nice pictures did you keep the specimen? Edited by Mark-uk on 20-09-2011 13:02 |

So this would be my third M. longiseta after http://www.dipter...d_id=19604 and http://www.dipter...d_id=21897 . Is the lacking presut dc the only decisive character? I find the abdomen of this fly much more striped and yellow; however, I'm not familiar with the allowed variability.The specimen is hopefully well and not caught by a spider. I do not collect except digitally . |
