As the "cross vein at the basis of cell R connects to the underlying cell at alf its length" I would say Conops sp. Snout seems to fit a Conops as well.

I will take a risk: Conops vesicularis. (I don?t see any silverish stripe at the sides in thorax.) |

No, this is a Physocephala allright, the cell R is much longer than it seems. The animal has no silvery stripe, but a yellow head above the antenna, that makes it Physocephala vittata! greetings, Greetings, Gerard Pennards |

hmm... it would be better to view full and clear (specially apically) wing venation to be sure. But if the cell R is really much longer, that would make it really a Psycocephala. |

It is not P. chrysorrhoe but a species of the vittata group - I guess P. vittata s. str. Jens-Hermann |
