found on 2015-08-20 in the vegetation near a small pool at Patsch, Tirol, Austria (about 1000m over sea level). Quite possibly, Tephritis conura (posterior notopleural seta looks dark), but without that character, it can be everything... Val |

Thank you Valery. As far as I can see they are blackish. The fly was found on a leaf of Cirsium oleraceum, which is a very common thistle there.

Then yes, for sure T. conura. This is a polymorphic species with several host plant races, and European specimens are often quite uncommon.
