Hi,

Someone took this picture in New Caledonia. After some consideration, Rutellia seems to be a quite possible genus. And this one looks really similar: http://www.endemi...e4406.html.

What's you opinion?

-1) It might be better to name this 'Rutiliini', since there are several genera.
Please correct the typo in your headings (only 1 l, with ll it won't pop up in the search engine).

-2)
So, I checked the reference

Crosskey (1973) states that 'it [Rutiliini] has not been recorded from New Caledonia,
but it probably occurs there'.

-3) the more recent 'Catalogue Diptera Oceania' does not give any Rutiliini from New Caledonia either
http://hbs.bishopmuseum.org/aocat/tachinidae.html

-4) So, very interesting find indeed !! Possibly / probably a species new to science, so please make an effort to collect

Changes done.

Well, i transmitted to the photographer, but he told me it is quite uncommon and it was first time he saw it.

If he is able do collect some, you want the specimens?
