Cetema cereris (Fallén, 1820), Chloropidae: female. Cetema is neuter, cereris is named after a Greek god, thus being not an adjective with neuter ending. A white arista occurs in several genera of all chloropid subfamilies, partly in single species only (like here) or partly in all. A "rugous" surface of the scutum (mesonotum) is typical of the genus. C. cereris develops in species of several genera of Poaceae. |
