Probably Medetera diadema. I have caught yesterday the same in the Crimea.

I have not managed to find the photograph that you captured. I have also tried to see those in Diptera Gallery info, to check. But to no avail, no specimens of that species. I'm just an amateur photographer of Diptera, but without knowledge to identify. Hopefully another expert can confirm its proposal. Best regards from southern Spain. |

Sorry, Maherjos, I was confused with dark femora. Wing venation and mesonotal setation vote for the Medetera flavipes group. M. flavipes is the commonest species in the Mediterraneans. I have caught it today in the Crimea. Igor Grichanov |
