Who can help to identify this fly. I think it is not Tachina fera with this white face?

The mouth-edge is strongly projecting and the basicosta seems pale - could it be a Linnaemyia sp. ? Smile

It's a beautiful Peleteria, near Tachina.
Strong bristles on parafacialia near lower eye margin are characteristic.
Species is difficult to tell

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
