found today beside a runnel in a forest near Marburg, Hesse. It looks really strange for me... I have been on the lookout for Stegana, but not found any as yet. There is also Camarota curvipennis (Chloropidae) that carries it's wings in a similar fashion. http://www.dipter...ad_id=8017 But easy to tell the two apart under magnifcation. Edited by Mark-uk on 20-06-2012 11:13 |

Hi Mark, Did you check trees infected by fungi? I did found a Stegana on the same tree where I found Neoalticomerus. It was a fagus infected by Fomes fomentarius,(fres ones).
