By all accounts this should be Brachystoma but as far as I know both European species have a black mesonotum. I hope you collected it (fearing the answer will be 'no' .

You fear right, as you could conclude , no top shot, no fly to take that (-: Some unclearness: where Brachystomatidae fits ?
