Brussels: I found those two in copula on Calystegia sepium. The male has much larger antenna's then the female. Can it be identified?
thanks,
Bart

Rhaphium of the Dolichopodidae, perhaps antennatum?

Dear Paul,

Certainly not R. antennatum, rather R. caliginosum or R. appendiculatum (which can have a small second generation), but to be absolutely sure you should examine the male genitalia.

Cheers,
Marc
