Hi,

found today (17.july.2008) this Pangonius (two specimens) in a forest reserv from SE Romania (Dobrogea). the forest is mainly from Quercus (specially pubescens).
large ~15mm

can be identified from photos? if something more needed both specimens where collected.

Pangonius is correct, this is in the pyritosus-subgroup.
Difficult genus, I'm getting to work on.
Please do collect !!
