I'm intrigued by this one, and surprised that no-one has replied. Claudia - can you re-post as "Strange Anthomyiid/Rhinophorid?" to see if we can get a response from Mike or Theo? I lightened the picture : M1+2 is bent. My guess is Calliphoridae, perhaps Morinia doronici (=melanoptera) (wings are too dark for Melanomya nana)...

Dear friends, I am delighted that my blackie has received a name at last; my hope for a reply was already nearly gone! Now I see the reason - it seems to be a taxon not too common. I have so many pictures of this fly, so I photoshopped another one to see what St?phane found out concerning the wing veins. It is a calliphorid pattern indeed! Melanomya nana I saw several times meanwhile, and it never folded its wings that way; moreover, its abdomen seems to bear much more and longer hairs. I add some pics for comparison, taken on the same day at the same locality. So do you authorize me to submit a photo for the gallery under the name Morinia doronici, or shall I add a "cf."?
