this is a male Parageron and current understanding places it with gratus Loew. i am currently revising the genus, there is some historical confusion between gratus, auratus and lowei. i have yet to see the type of gratus so cannot be definitive but your photo is certainly what is currently called gratus.

All records or specimens of this genus and the closely related Usia much appreciated.

I didn?t see yet any Bombyliidae this year. Sad

We have here Usia spp. but we must wait some more weeks. (during summer, temperatures here can reach almost 45 ?C.) Frown Usually, about 38?C , 39?C.
