It does look similar to the image you mention, or to A. illocata, but neither is listed in Fauna Eur. Is there an airport nearby?? |

I think it is a muscid, maybe Limnophora as you thought. Although it does look as if the anal vein could reach the wing margin, it also looks as if there could be 4 pdcs. Neither is very clear. Can you see better in the big picture? Soon the experts will arrive ![]() |

This is not a Limnophora as it has a pair of crossed interfrontals and a prealar seta (that Coenosinae never have), nor a Brontaea (Gymnodia). Both also have 2 broad dark spots in front of suture. This must be an Anthomyia sp. Stephane. |

Which is the prealar? Is it the hair literally in front of the wing base, the hair along the front of the dark band above the wing base, or a different one? |
