Golden robber fly with prey - Malaysia

A golden robber fly with prey. Shot in Malaysia in a community forest. Any help on ID is greatly appreciated.

This beautiful fly (& photo!) looks to be Choerades ( "Laphria" ) sobria -- based on a specimen from the British Museum.

Very interesting. The prey is some ant queen (Formicidae).

Eric, i checked the gallery and there's no Laphria sobria in it. Should i add this to the gallery? Thanks.
